We are excited for our spring Lunch With Loved Ones, organized by the Springside PTA. It is coming up next Monday, April 27. Please see attached flyers for details and a map of where to meet your student. If you will be bringing your student a lunch, please make sure they know so they do not grab a school lunch. This event is for you, a grandparent, aunt/uncle, older sibling, or any loved one. We would love to see you there; however, we know many are working or otherwise unavailable. We have such amazing students and parents. We hope no child will be eating lunch alone and feeling down; but if you happen to see a child sitting alone, invite them to sit with you and your students. For students whose loved ones can't attend, they are invited to sit with Mr. LaBare, Mr. B, and the Springside Owl if they would like. See attached details. We hope to see you there!

The Saratoga Springs Police Department would like to invite Springside Elementary students to participate in a contest they will have May 4-8. Students can ride their bikes, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, etc. to school using their proper safety equipment (especially their helmets). If you could snap a picture of them and tag the Saratoga Springs Police Department in your post to be entered in the contest. Firearm Safety Lesson - 6th Grade
In accordance with H.B. 104 we will be having an important lesson about safety, focusing on what to do if your child ever sees a gun. We will not discuss how guns work, but rather, how to stay safe. We will learn and practice these four rules following the L.E.T.’S. Stay Safe model put out by the Utah Attorney General’s Office. We encourage you to please talk with your child about these rules and reinforce the message at home. Remind them that guns are never toys, and it’s always okay to ask an adult for help if they are unsure or feel unsafe. Our counselor, Mr. B, will present this lesson in our 6th grade classrooms next week, March 30th - April 3rd. Please fill out this form ONLY if you do NOT want your child to participate in the firearm safety lesson. Your student’s teacher will have an alternate activity for your child in another classroom if you choose to opt out.
