Dear Springside Families,

Tomorrow is a very special day — it's the first day of Kindergarten at Springside Elementary! We are so excited to welcome our newest students to the school and can’t wait to meet them!

As we begin Kindergarten, please note that our afternoon pick-up procedures will be slightly different to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly.

🔸 Only Kindergarten parents with official Kinder dismissal cards will be allowed to use the Kindergarten pick-up line.

🔸 If you have older students at Springside, please plan for them to pick up their Kindergarten sibling directly from the Kinder teacher and then head to the front of the school - your regular family pick-up spot. We want to try to elevate congestion at the Kinder pickup zone.

We appreciate your support and flexibility as we work to make dismissal safe and efficient for everyone.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Springside community!

Please refer to the map for pick up and drop off expectations. Student safety is our number one priority. Please be alert when driving in our parking lots and pull throughs. If you need to get out of your vehicle, please use a parking space. Do not leave your car if you are in a pull though area during drop off and pick up.
We can't wait to see you!

Dear Springside Community,

We want to inform you that there will be a visible law enforcement presence at Springside Elementary this evening. Members of several local police agency SWAT teams will be using our school facility for scheduled training purposes. This is part of our ongoing commitment to collaborate closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and school community. Please be assured that there is no cause for concern—this is a planned training exercise and not an emergency situation. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work together to maintain a safe learning environment.

Good afternoon Springside families,

We want to ensure that everyone is aware of a new state law regarding the use of electronic devices in elementary schools. This law applies to any electronic communication device—including, but not limited to, cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, or other portable devices used for entertainment or communication—regardless of whether the device is connected to a network. In compliance with the new legislation, students are prohibited from using electronic communication devices during school hours. All such devices must remain in students' backpacks from the time they arrive on campus until they leave the building at the end of the school day. We appreciate your support in helping us create a focused and distraction-free learning environment. If you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please call the front office (801-610-8732) and we will notify your child ASAP. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Springside Elementary administration.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: As the new school year begins, please be aware that there will be a lot of additional traffic around our school properties, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. This will be particularly noticeable during the first few weeks of school as we welcome students and as families settle into routines. Please be extremely patient, and remember to put the safety of all students first.

Hello Families!

We understand there has been confusion about the kindergarten start date. First thru sixth grades will start on Wednesday, August 13. Kindergarten will start on Tuesday, August 19th. Kindergarten teachers will be conducting one on one testing with students throughout the first week. Look for communication from your child's teacher to schedule the testing appointment.
